Vineyard
The grapes for 2020 Family Icon Shiraz were selected from one of our premium Shiraz vineyards planted in the early 1990’s. These grapes flavour-ripened early due to the very warm and dry 2020 season.

Winemaking
The grapes were crushed on-site at Jenke Vineyards, fermented on skins for 8 days then drained and pressed. Free-run and pressed portions were combined for malolactic fermentation. The wine spent 14 months in a mix of French and American Oak hogshead barrels before racking and refining. The wine was bottled on 16 November 2022 and has been ageing in our Cellars since.

Colour: Medium brick red.
Aroma/Flavour: Distinct red currant and raspberry fruit aromas. A hint of spice.
Palate: Silky integrated tannins along with the juicy Shiraz flavours give the wine a well-structured palate.
An elegant soft Shiraz.
