2019 7TH GENERATION
CHARDONNAY

THIS WINE IS GROWN ON OUR ESTATE IN ROWLAND FLAT IN A PICTURESQUE VINEYARD WHICH GENTLY SLOPES DOWN TO THE NORTH PARA RIVER.

The warm, dry growing conditions resulted in an early Vintage. The grapes were harvested in the cool of the night on 14th February 2019.
Colour: Bright and light yellow / golden.
This wine has been made in the delicate flinty style. It has crisp tight acidity and finishes with some chalky, minerally flavours.
Winemaking: The juice was separated immediately from the skins utilising only the fine free run fraction.
The first stage of fermentation was carried out in a stainless steel fermenter and the final stage in new French Oak barrels supplied from Heinrich Cooperage, Tanunda. Whilst in barrel, the wine was batonnaged (lees stirred) daily for two months. This style of fermentation with batonnage, has added soft creaminess to the palate.
Following clarification, the wine was bottled early in July 2019 to retain its delicate aromas and flavours.
