2024 7TH GENERATION
SEMILLON

Semillon is one of the most revered white wine varieties in the world. Semillon wine has the unique ability to transform in the bottle over time from a lean, crisp, fine, minerally, citrus flavour into a rich, toasty, honied, mature wine with an almost nutty or oak-like finish.

Vintage and Vineyard
This wine was made from grapes grown on one of the few remaining old-vine Semillon vineyards in Rowland Flat which thrive on our free-draining sandy loam soils. Their vigour and resistance to humidity and disease make it my privilege to be the custodian of these old vines.

Cooler than average temperatures during the growing period helped maintain acidity and fragrance. The grapes were harvested during the night of 9th February 2024 well before the summer heatwaves.

Winemaking
Only the free-run juice was utilised. Fermentation was conducted in stainless steel at cool temperatures which has locked in the fragrance and fruit flavours of the Semillon grape. This is a non-oaked style.
