Kym Jenke
When Kym Jenke passed away suddenly in the vineyard in 2016, the Barossa Valley lost one of its sons and winemakers.
The Jenke family lost a brother, son, uncle and above all, a man who was well loved. Not only have we lost a cherished member of our family, but also a piece of our family legacy.
The last wine Kym made was a 2016 Shiraz and we have released it as our homage to Kym. We hope you will enjoy the Family Icon 2016 Shiraz.
Raise a Glass
From the time he left university to his sudden passing, Kym was the wine side of Jenke Vineyards. For anyone who had visited the Jenke Vineyards’ cellar door and had the opportunity to be served by Kym, you will have experienced first-hand Kym’s passion for wine, life and the Barossa.
He was a person with a very big personality and an infectious enthusiasm for life.
The wine made at Jenke Vineyards was Kym’s pride and joy, so it is important to us to ensure that the Jenke Vineyards label lives on as his legacy.
If you look closely at our new 7th Generation labels, you’ll see Kym standing alongside Mark under the verandah of our 1850’s cellar door.
We invite you to raise your glass with us – we salute you Kym Jenke.
